Historical Note

William Alexander Scott II (1902-1934), a Morehouse College graduate, was an African American newspaper publisher who founded the Atlanta Daily World newspaper and published African American newspapers across the country with the Scott News Syndicate. He was murdered in February 1934 and was succeeded in the publishing business by his brother C.A. Scott.
