This series consists of correspondence between Walter Louis (1876- 1955) and Mary Alice (Alice) Woodliff Stovall (1880-1966) and their children, primarily daughters Sarah Elizabeth (Boosh) Stovall, Martha Woodliff Stovall, and Mary Katherine (Katherine) Stovall (correspondence with their son George Woodliff Stovall can be found in Series II). The letters sent between Alice and Walter detail their daily life and noteworthy occurrences of extended family and friends. Their daughters' letters document their experiences at Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville and discuss their college experience including classes, clothes, and money. The girls continued writing into their adult lives though the focus changes to work and their own families. The majority of the correspondence pre-dates 1966, the year of Alice's death.
