This document is an inventory and appraisement of debts owed the James Barlow estate. Included are the hiring costs of 27 enslaved people, with payments owed by 18 different enslavers, as well as the rents due on 3 plantations in Sumter and Laurens Counties.

Names the following enslaved people: Sally (and her unnamed children), Ann, Henry, Edmond, Tom, Bob, Jacob, Pickney, Enoch, Delia, Silas, Cracy (and her unnamed child), Hagen, Silvy (and her two unnamed children), Bryant, Dempsey [?], Jane, Washington, Betsey, Bright, Rainy or [Reamy], Louisiana, Margarette, Jerry, and Queen
