This collection consists of digital photographs, videos, and correspondence from Holland's personal files related to his work as an Altamaha Riverkeeper. This includes Holland's documentation of various development sites and suspected environmental violations, several folders of aerial photographs of coastal sites, water quality data, and presentations, reports, and formal complaints that were filed related to his findings. The collection also includes Holland's email newsletters from 2015-2019.

James Holland was an environmentalist and the first Altamaha Riverkeeper, an environmental watchdog organization in Georgia. He served as its first executive director from 2000 to 2010. Holland used photography to document the development and pollution threatening the environment in the Altamaha River Watershed area.
