This collection contains a printed broadside with an illustration of James K. Hines, Populist candidate for governor of Georgia, an inflammatory quote, its condemnation and witness statements to the fact, and a rebuttal from the candidate.

Biographical / historical:

In 1894, the Populist Party nominated Judge James K. Hines as their candidate for governor of Georgia. He was narrowly defeated in the election. He was a Georgia Supreme Court judge and attorney for the Railroad Commission of Georgia.
